The Pomeranian Spitz is an ornamental toy dog with a pretty face and cute, mischievous eyes. The Pomeranian’s coat is fluffy and loose around the body, and the undercoat is soft and fluffy. The coat forms a collar around the neck and shoulders, and the tail and hind legs are also fluffier than the rest of the body. The colour of the Spitz can be black, black and spotted, chocolate, red with stripes, orange, cream, blue, blue spotted, white and bicolour.
The snout of the Spitz is elongated but not pointed. Teeth are not large and can be scissor bite or straight bite. The ears are small, erect and triangular.
The feet of the Pygmy Spitz are strong, rounded, with the front legs parallel to the hind legs. Both fore and hind legs have slightly shortened tibiae. The tail is very fluffy, of medium length, set high and curled into a ring.
The Pomeranian is similar in appearance to a cuddly toy, and its compact size, sweet face and beautiful fluffy coat make it a favourite with fans of the pygmy dog.
