This breed is characterised by its malleable character and playfulness, which has made the Pomeranian Spitz popular all over the world. Queen Victoria, for example, was a great fan of the Pomeranian Spitz.
Despite its playfulness, the Spitz is very calm. The Spitz can play with a child for a long time, but if left alone, it will sit quietly and wait for further commands from its owner. Incidentally, the Spitz is easy to train, as it is also a capable dog with a good memory – once it learns a command, it will remember it for the rest of its life.
The Pomeranian Spitz becomes very attached to its owner, willing to serve him faithfully. Sometimes even to the point of having to tame it in its eagerness to be favoured. But of course this is only the positive side of the Spitz.
Most Spitz’s love children and children love them. Teach your child how to handle the dog properly and he and your child will become inseparable friends. Proper care and affection will ensure that the Spitz trusts its owner.
