It is important to ask the breeder in advance what the Pomeranian Spitz has been fed and to buy the same food if possible. Changing his food can lead to serious digestive problems and often to his death. If you want to feed your Pomeranian a different food to the one he was fed at the breeder’s, you should introduce it gradually rather than giving him a different food all at once.
A Pomeranian’s diet should include all minerals and fats – carbohydrates, proteins and water. You can feed your pet dry food, which is already balanced in terms of nutrients. It is also easy to store.
If you want your dog to eat natural foods, his diet should include meat, fish, dairy products, eggs, mash, vegetables and fruit. For meat, it is best to give chicken or beef fillets – and only fresh.
Fish should only be saltwater or boiled freshwater fish. In any case, it should be cooked before the Spitz eats it.
